Stonefield maintains a line of registered and registrable Navajo-Churro sheep and hardy meat sheep. We keep some lambs for sale as breeding stock. We register a few Navajo-Churro sheep each year to continue our participation in preservation of this line of sheep. Some Navajo-Churro lambs are sold as registrable. Others are pet and wool quality only. Navajo-Churro ewes are sometimes crossed with English meat sheep, such as the Southdown pictured, to produce a locally adapted meat animal.
Our ram pool includes two or three Navajo-Churros and two or three meat sires such as Polypay, Dorset, or Southdown.
